Bodems hebben zich op drie verschillende substraten gevormd: de meeste op flysch, minder op kalksteen en op rivieraluvium. De gemiddelde temperaturen in januari liggen boven de 4\u00b0C, terwijl de gemiddelde temperaturen in juli boven de 22\u00b0C liggen.
